Some alleged Christmas Eve mischief led to the arrest of two local men last week.
Daniel Wayne Jackson, 25, of Warrior and Justin Seth Welshans, 19, of Gardendale, were arrested on misdemeanor charges of unlawful breaking and entering of a vehicle.
The two men were arrested and booked on $10,000 bond. Welshans reportedly bonded out soon after arrest.
According to Det. Brian Odum, the Gardendale Police Department received a call shortly after midnight on Christmas Eve from a witness who claimed to have seen two men on a lot behind Crane Auto Repair and Towing at 2428 Decatur Hwy. in Gardendale.
Odum said the two men allegedly broke into a Penn Electric truck and damaged the interior. He said when police arrived, the two men were reportedly hiding under the truck.
He said the two men are also accused of slashing tires of other vehicles on the lot.
In addition to the breaking and entering charge, the two men may also face charges of criminal mischief. Odum said the pair is suspected of slashing tires at residences on Belcher Hill Road and Dogwood Trail.
“The story I got, was that they just wanted to take a walk,” Odum said. “They both spent Christmas in jail.”
