- Cullman coach Brent Patterson talks to his team during a home game this season.
For the third straight week, Cullman’s baseball team remained No. 1 in the Class 6A poll when the Alabama Sports Writers Association released its latest baseball and softball rankings on Wednesday.
The Bearcats (18-5) dropped a 4-3 contest versus Dana Hills (Calif.) during the USA Baseball National High School Invitational at Cary, N.C. in their most recent outing but had entered the prestigious event having won eight of their previous nine games, including a terrific showing at Perfect Game’s Rawlings Select Classic in Cartersville, Ga. last weekend.
Cullman was trailed by Spanish Fort, Decatur, Helena and Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa in the 6A rankings.
The Black and Gold also came in at No. 10 (Perfect Game National Top 50) and No. 23 (MaxPreps Computer Rankings), both of which were updated on Tuesday.
