Tankersley named 2017 Cullman County Distinguished Young Woman

Lauryn Tankersley was named the 2017 Cullman County Distinguished Young Woman Sunday, sweeping all categories to win $7,150 in college scholarship money.
The Fairview senior won the talent, scholarship, fitness, interview and self-expression categories. She is the daughter Jason and Sherri Tankersley, and hopes to attend Auburn University and pursue a career in interior design.
She is the head majorette at Fairview High School, a member of the Cullman Ballet Company, winner of the 2015 Birmingham Fashion Week Rising Design Star Challenge, a Cullman County Chamber of Commerce Youth Leadership delegate, National Honor Society secretary and student council secretary.
