Dodge City

Dodge City is throwing itself a birthday party this weekend, and everyone is invited.

The 5th Annual Dodge City Day will take over the town of nearly 600 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday. Located just off of the west side of I-65 on exit 299, Dodge City has been steadily adding new businesses and recently enacted a half-cent sales tax on local transaction.

It incorporated in 1993, making it Cullman County’s youngest municipality.

Here’s a rundown of the events planned Saturday:

9 a.m.-4 p.m.: Tone Tone the Clown and inflatables for children will be in the street in front of the town hall.

10 a.m.: Trammel Family will perform at the new senior center.

Noon: Lunch for all Cullman County senior citizens provided at the new senior center.

1 p.m.: Brick Avenue will perform on the front porch of the town hall.
