May 31 The Gooch family reunion will be held May 31 at Moncrief Kiddie Park beginning at noon. The family would like to extend an invitation to old and new friends, cousins, in-laws, out-laws or whatever. Bring any old photos or items of interest to share. Garden Tour

June 7 and 8 The 2008 Gardendale Garden Tour will be June 7 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. and June 8 from 1 until 4 p.m. Tickets will be $5 and will be available from North End Council Garden Club Members and at the individual homes. Please call Maurene Guffin 631-4871 for information.



VBS

June 9-12 Mineral Springs Baptist Church has called Bro. Keith Thomas as their pastor. The church will have VBS, June 9 -12 from 6 to8 p.m. Mineral Springs Baptist Church is located at 1501 Brookside Coalburg Road.



Fund Raiser

June 14 A taste and see dessert fundraising event for Alabama Teen Challenge will be held at Gardendale First Baptist Church June 14, 6:30-8 p.m. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the GFBC Encouraging Word Bookstore or at the door. Basketball Camp

July 15-17 Basketball Power Camps will be held at Gardendale-Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church. The boys camp will be from July 15-17 from 8:30 a.m. to noon and the girls camp will be July 22-24 8:30 to noon for rising first through sixth graders. The cost is $20.



Meal and a Movie

Friendship United Methodist Church has started a weekly “Meal and a Movie”. For the children we will have dinner and a “G” rated movie. Parents are welcome to drop off their kids at 6 p.m. and pick them back up at 9 p.m. However, all parents are welcome to stay if they would like. Free Child Care

The Marlow Ballroom Dance is held the third Sunday of every month at Friendship Hall in Fultondale from 2-5 p.m. Cost is $8/person, dressy casual. Group classes are also held every Wednesday at 5 p.m. at the Friendship Hall $10/person. For more information call 229-8240.
