County OKs new AL-69 turn lane at Gold Ridge Road

Alabama 69 is getting a new left turn lane at Gold Ridge Road with the Cullman County Commission’s approval of nearly $300,000 in local funds.

The commission signed off on an agreement with the Alabama Department of Transportation for the construction of a turning lane on County Road 1545. A local match of $296,900 is required.

Approved July 25 meeting minutes, appropriations, expenditures, payroll, requisitions and all journal entries to be posted.
Approved Tubbs Family Cemetery at 214 County Road 478.
Approved of use of courthouse steps and parking lot for the Freedom Walk for Human Trafficking to be held 9 a.m. October 14.
Authorized Chairman Kenneth Walker and County Attorney Chad Floyd to sign a grant agreement with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for reconstruction of the north parallel taxiway at the Cullman Regional Airport.

Approved proposed plat for Harvell’s Addition Subdivision, located in District 1 on County Road 1224.
Approved proposed plat for Moss Rock Point Subdivision, located in District 2 on County Road 51.
Approved proposed plat for The Summit Subdivision, located in District 2 on County Road 215.
Approved purchase of paint from Ennis, Inc. through the State Bid List for striping 58 miles of road for $19,696.
The Cullman County Commission will hold a work session at 8:30 a.m., Thursday, August 31, followed by its meeting at 10 a.m.
