A single-vehicle crash Thursday claimed the life of a Cullman County man. 

Billy Wayne Wilbanks, 73, of Vinemont, was killed when the 2010 Chevrolet Silverado he was driving left the roadway and struck a tree. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a news release from Alabama State Troopers.

The crash occurred at 9 a.m. on Cullman County 1301, one mile north of Vinemont. Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.

It’s the third traffic fatality in Cullman County since Saturday night.

The fatality marks the 23rd in Cullman County so far in 2017.
