Cullman High School made the largest donation to date Tuesday for The Cullman Times’ Cares & Shares food drive with a gift of more than $4,000.
The check, for exactly $4,210.78, is the largest amount ever raised by students and doubles last year’s gift from the high school.
The Student Council and Future Health Professionals organization led two fundraising efforts within the school to raise the money, which goes directly to Cullman Caring For Kids’ community food bank.
Local families experiencing difficult financial conditions can receive a health variety of food products at the food bank each month. The food bank is providing the service for more than 650 local families per month.
