Garden tip: If you did not drain the oil in your lawn mower last fall, replace with new oil now, then clean and sharpen the mower blades. Pruners and grass shears should be sharpened, too. Wash grass catchers with heavy-duty laundry soap. Shovels, hoes and edgers should be sharpened with a file.

• New Bethel Baptist Church will host a singing on March 30. The singers will be Straight Way and will start at 7 p.m.
