PREP VOLLEYBALL: Addison’s Chambless earns AL.com Super All-State honors

Addison’s Abbie Chambless received a last-minute Christmas present on Thursday afternoon.
The Gadsden State signee was named to AL.com’s Super All-State Volleyball Team — comprised of the state’s top 16 players regardless of classification — in addition to earning Class 1A Player of the Year honors following a tremendous senior campaign.
Chambless helped propel the Lady Bulldogs to their fifth straight state championship — 10th overall — with her second consecutive MVP performance. The 5-8 middle hitter racked up 565 kills, 386 digs and 177 blocks for a senior-laden squad that capped off the season with a 51-8 record.
Kendra Tyree — the team’s libero — claimed a spot in Class 1A’s Best of the Rest as well.
