- Hunter Brannon puts in work with Cullman's offensive line on the first day of fall camp in 2016.
It turns out Hunter Brannon will be donning an Alabama jersey a little bit earlier than expected.
The Cullman High lineman and three-star Crimson Tide commit was one of 40 seniors selected to play in this year’s Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game. The 30th annual event is slated for Dec. 10 at noon at the Cramton Bowl in Montgomery.
Alabama leads the series 21-8.
The 6-4, 295-pound Brannon was one of eight offensive linemen to make the cut. He’s Cullman’s first Alabama-Mississippi All-Star football representative since Charlie Sanford in 2007.
The Bearcats’ other two previous selections — Zac Tubbs (2001) and Wesley Britt (1999) — were also offensive linemen. Britt is Brannon’s uncle and the first of three Britt brothers to continue their careers at Alabama.
Brannon was a Class 6A All-State second-teamer as a junior. This fall, he’s spent snaps at various positions on the offensive line and also helped out on defense.
Cullman (4-3, 2-2) is off this week after overcoming an 18-point deficit to top Pell City 25-24 on homecoming last Friday night.
