Sadness over death of beloved resident

The Fultondale Community is deeply saddened by the death of Ressie Lowery on Oct. 23. He was a pillar in our community and friends with so many. We send our heartfelt sympathies to all the family and friends.

• Our sympathies also go to the family of Jack Brumlow who passed away Oct. 22. Our hearts and prayers go out to his family.

• The Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast is scheduled for Nov. 22 at 8 a.m. at the Fultondale Senior Building at Black Creek Park.

• It will soon be time for the “Storefront Christmas Contest” presented by the Fultondale Chamber of Commerce. Rules for the contest are: Outdoor decorations must be seen from the street or parking lot. Indoor decorations must be visible through a window that is seen from the street or parking lot. All decorations and entry forms must be completed by Dec. 5. Judging will begin Dec. 6 and end on Dec. 8.

• A special happy 16th birthday wish to Carley Ray on Oct. 26.

• A special happy birthday to: a special friend, Dianne Bolden on Oct. 19; Dianne’s sister Patricia Norris of Boaz on Oct. 6; Dianne’s grandson Jacob Bolden on Oct. 12.; and her granddaughter Sarah Vickers on Oct. 31.

• Happy birthday wishes go to these city employees: Brandon Shipp of the Fultondale Gas Department on Nov. 1; police Det. David Smith on Nov. 4; police officer Jonathan Wayne Schnur on Nov. 5; and Tyler Steven Burgess on Nov. 6.
