Early anecdotal reports from all three local law enforcement agencies — the Cullman Police Department, the Hanceville Police Department and the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office — indicated no surge in DUIs, domestic violence, fires or traffic issues.

“Pretty much everything’s been quiet,” said Cullman Police Chief Kenny Culpepper Monday, mirroring Hanceville Police Chief Bob Long’s report of “business as usual” over the three-day holiday.

Sheriff Matt Gentry said he was grateful the deputies and support staff who worked Friday, Saturday and Sunday had “a very quiet, peaceful Christmas.”
