PREP HOOPS ROUNDUP: West Point girls win Calera Christmas Tournament

CALERA — West Point’s girls easily handled the host Eagles 74-30 during the championship bout of the Calera Christmas Tournament Friday night, bringing their season record to 14-2 overall.
The Lady Warriors were paced by Miriam Oldacre’s 19 points. Brooke Brownfield (12), Olivia Ball (10) and Lexi Shadix (eight) each had big days for the Maroon and White as well.
Ball was named tournament MVP following two strong games, while both she and Oldacre snagged spots on the All-Tourney Team.
% Cold Springs 67, Central-Florence 28: Camryn Crider recorded a team-high 18 points, Sadie Terry contributed 15 and the 2A No. 4 Lady Eagles easily bounced their opponent during the final day of the West Morgan Christmas Tournament.
The Blue and Gold also received fantastic efforts from Neely Ellison (11), Elizabeth Hill (seven) and Emme Willoughby (seven).
Cold Springs is now 15-1 on the season.
% Lewis County (Tenn.) 62, Cullman 56: The Lady Bearcats dropped a close game to the Lady Panthers to wrap up the Queen of the Smokies Tournament in Sevierville, Tenn.
Sierra Easterwood scored 19 points for Cullman (9-9), while Anna Evans and Kennedy Wren each tossed in 12. Easterwood was named to the All-Tournament Team.
Lainey Bell netted a game-high 26 points for Lewis County, while Mattie King added 19.
Varsity Boys
% St. Bernard 46, Lynn 36: Christian Peterson (16 points), Elijah Price (13) and Miguel Sanchez (11) all tallied double-digit outings Friday to help the Saints pick up an area victory over the Bears.
% Sumiton Christian 63, St. Bernard 28: The Saints couldn’t keep up with the Eagles during a Thursday loss.
Price led St. Bernard with 11 points, while Peterson tossed in six.
Junior Varsity
% Cold Springs 35, Central-Florence 25: The Lady Eagles improved to 14-3 after downing the Lady Wildcats to take home the West Morgan Christmas Tournament title.
Toni West tallied 16 points, while Hannah Stricklin (seven), Hayden Goodwin (six), Kylon Hamby (four) and Brooke Crider (two) all had buckets in the championship tilt.
