A local man has been charged with selling drugs during an investigation by the Cullman Police Department.

Russell Howard Rich was arrested Thursday and charged with unlawful distribution of a controlled substance. According to a press release from the Police Department, an undercover operation led to the arrest with the man allegedly sold methamphetamine and Fentanyl patches to officers.

Police warned that Fentanyl patches are a strong narcotic opioid pain medication used for managing severe pain, but when abused can be deadly.

Investigators Justin Craft and Chris Thomason asked that anyone with information about suspected illegal drug operations to call 256-775-7179 for police assistance.
