Garden tip: If you have container plants, this is a good time to check the pots for root-bound plants. You may have to water each of these plants every day. Be sure to step up fertilizing these plants and be sure to fertilize with a slow-release fertilizer. You can cut back petunias, geraniums, impatiens and begonias to a point where a new shoot will encourage new growth for the late summer flowers.

• If you have pictures of your graduation, we need for you to get in touch with Ray Trotter at 647-3743. The pictures that hung in the hall were removed years ago. The alumni club is replacing and restoring the pictures to place in the hall of Warrior School. We are looking for the years: 1939, 1942, 1949, 1951, 1963, 1964, 1966, 1967, 1970 through 1978 and 1980 through 1992. If you have a copy of your annual and picture of the graduating class of these years, feel free to call me also.

• Happy birthday to: Terry Holt, Sue Bradey, Shelba Tumblin and Earl Walker on Aug. 12; Jerome Mikell on Aug. 14; and Shirley Eubanks and Virginia Crittenden on Aug. 15. I hope each of you has a great year.

• Pray for Emily McBrayer, Jerome Bradford, Linda Busby, Jeff Purcell, Orine Jones, Phillip Sloan, Dee Sloan, Burlie James, Essie Mae Lowe, LeVern James, Eskrine James and all that are sick.

• We need to pray for our troops that are in harms’ way and for the election that will be coming up.
