Betty Jane Pate Key, 72 of Gardendale, (April 29, 1943 – December 21, 2015) passed away on December 21, 2015. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Agnes Marie Pate and Donald Gary Pate. Betty attended Gardendale’s First Baptist Church for many years. 

Survivors include her husband, Charles Raymond Key; daughter, Tammy Smith (Charles); son, James Logan Key; granddaughters, Ashley Smith and Amber Smith; great granddaughter, Hannah Melcher; and her brothers, Phillip Wayne, Donald Gary and Kenneth Andrew Pate. Funeral services were held at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel burial at Oakwood Memorial Gardens.
