Financial Seminar

Winter Wonderland Dance

The sixth-annual 2008 Winter Wonderland Dance with Edd Jones Band is scheduled for Feb. 28.

In preparation for the dance, Jackie Tally and Andy Anderson will be teaching lessons each Tuesday night from 7 to 8 p.m. beginning Jan. 20 through Feb. 24 in the exhibition hall at the Gardendale Civic Center.

Lessons in Rumba will start Jan. 20 for three consecutive weeks. Lessons in Swing will start Feb. 10 for three consecutive weeks. Cost is $5 per lesson, per person.



Toy collection

Free Child Care

Kimberly



Smoke Detectors

The Kimberly Fire Department is accepting names and telephone numbers for Kimberly residents to receive a free smoke detector. Residents who are elderly, have young children or are disabled qualify to receive the detectors, which will be installed by firefighters. Call Kimberly Town Hall at 647-5551.

Gardening Course

The Cullman County Office of The Alabama Cooperative Extension System with the Cullman County Master Gardener Assoc. is offering the Alabama Master Gardener Course. The Course will be from Jan. 28-April 22. Space is limited. For more info, call 256-737-9386



Meals On Wheels Program

January 2009, the Jefferson County Office of Senior Citizens Services (OSCS) Meals on Wheels Program seeks volunteers, individuals, or group organizations to deliver meals 1 to 2 hours out of their day, or even once a month to help. Currently, Meals on Wheels serves on average 3,800 hot meals per week to 960 clients, but due do the lack of volunteers there are around 400 people on the waiting list for the program. If you would like more information on how to become a Meals on Wheels volunteer, please call Alma Moore at 592-0413.
