KIMBERLY — The Kimberly City Council met on Tuesday night to discuss a number of topics.
The council voted to repair two city vehicles and vacate a portion of Dennis St. near Bryan Elementary School.
According to councilman Brian Pharris, it will cost $300 to repair spotlights mounted on the side of a Kimberly police cruiser. It will cost another $1,125 to replace the 12-year-old turbo on one of the city’s service trucks.
Mayor Bob Ellerbrock announced that the Kimberly Police Department has hired a new officer that will likely appear at the next council meeting, which is scheduled for March 22 at Kimberly City Hall.
Ellerbrock also announced that the Kimberly Fire Department will be sending back an orange fire truck, which was donated to the city in the aftermath of a 2014 tornado. A fire station in Indiana provided the engine to help Kimberly recover from the storm, and will now be donating the truck to another city in need.
