“Blessed to say I have got my first Division I offer from UAB! Thanks be to God,” posted Brown, who landed on the Alabama High School Athletics Association’s Class 5A first-team as an “athlete” last season.

Although he is proven on both sides of the ball, Brown says the Blazers extended their offer as a running back. The 6-foot, 230-pound ball carrier ran for 890 yards and 26 touchdowns on 117 carries last season as the Blue Devils reached the 5A Super 7 championship game in Tuscaloosa.

Brown is happy to secure an offer so close to home, but does not plan on making a commitment at this time. He would like to “see what happens first.”

On the defensive side, Brown worked his way to 106 total tackles (53 of the solo variety) and 11 quarterback sacks from his perch on the defensive end last year.

Will this UAB offer lead to more Division I attention for the upcoming senior? Will other colleges offer him as a defender? We’ll just have to wait and see.
