A very happy first birthday to my daughter

I want to wish the happiest birthday to my daughter, Raygan Pelkey, on Feb. 15. She is turning one, and time has flown by over the past year. She is the greatest daughter in the whole world and she is our blessing from God.

• For all you love birds, I want to wish you a very happy Valentine’s Day. May it be spent with the ones that you love the most.

• The Southern Drifters will be performing at the Moncrief Park Boy Scout Building tonight from 7 to 10 p.m. For more information, call 631-0077.

• The community ladies Bible study has begun. It meets at 9 a.m. or 6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays at the fellowship hall of Gardendale First Baptist Church. Child care is available. A study room will also be available for home-schooled children.

• Happy belated 17th birthday to Marilyn Millican, daughter of Brenda and Keith Hollis. Her birthday was on Jan. 29. Sorry it is so late.

• Mark your calendars for April 19 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for the annual Magnolia Festival at the Gardendale Civic Center. Come for live entertainment, including bluegrass, pop and Christian music, a classic car show, carnival rides, pony rides, inflatables, arts and crafts booths, a business expo, barbeque, ice cream, funnel cakes, etc. For more information, visit www.magnoliafestival.org. • Happy birthday to Eric Stephens on Feb. 13. I hope that, as a new daddy, you have the best birthday ever.
