Howard Eugene “Bud” Haynes

Mr. Howard Eugene “Bud” Haynes, born November 2, 1927, a lifelong resident of Fairview, Alabama, passed away at his home on August 22, 2015 at the age of 87.

Mr. Haynes was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Ava Haynes, and by his three siblings: Euel Haynes, U.V. “Red” Haynes, and Jean Dollar. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Juanita Tankersley Haynes, and their four children, Dr. Dennis Haynes (Charlotte), Darrel Haynes (Lydia), Sharon Haynes Litchfield (Frank), and Kevin Haynes (Stacie). He was a wonderful example to 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

After graduating from Fairview High School in 1946, Bud served in the U.S. Army before returning to the family farm. He was a lifelong member of Concord Baptist Church where he served as Deacon until his death. He loved working and helping others, participating in several East Cullman Baptist Association mission trips helping build three churches around the country. A master carpenter, Bud was instrumental in building the current sanctuary a Concord and the Fairview Volunteer Fire Department Building #1, where he was a fireman for many years. Above all, Bud loved his Lord, his family, and his work.

The family will receive visitors on Monday, August 24, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Concord Baptist Church followed by a service in celebration of Bud’s life.  The burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Jack Holbrook and Rev. Ross Clemmons. Bud’s grandsons will serve as his pallbearers: Jonathan Haynes, Ben Haynes, Bart Haynes, Joshua Haynes, David Haynes, Frank Litchfield, Howard Haynes Litchfield, and Karlson Haynes.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
