- The new Walmart Supercenter on Alabama 157 in Cullman is expected to open later in the fall.
The Cullman City Council approved an off-premises alcohol license Monday for the new Walmart set to open November 11 on Alabama 157.
The license will allow the store to sell beer and wine.
The new store will mark the county’s second Wal-Mart, with the existing location on Olive Street in south Cullman. The total Walmart building area will be 189,543 square feet in size, with an outdoor garden center of 3,759 feet.
Along with the main Walmart store and large parking lot, the development includes four smaller retail spaces, with spots ranging from 20,000 square feet to 40,000 square feet. The site plan also includes a handful of additional undeveloped outparcels around the project.
