- On Saturday night, a mother in Brainerd, Minnesota also called police to report finding a needle inside a small candy bar.
Judging by recent reports, the idea that sharp objects turning up in Halloween candy is simply an urban myth may actually be an urban myth itself.
On Thursday, police in Reynoldsburg, Ohio investigated a report that a razor blade had been stuffed inside a Snickers bar handed out to a young Trick-or-Treater.
“The child went to bite into the Snickers and it didn’t feel right, so they stopped and noticed an object in it, which appeared to be a disposable razor blade,” Reynoldsburg Police Lt. Shane Mauger told USA TODAY.
Maugher said he believed the incident was isolated. However, those that occurred two days later in neighboring Pennsylvania are not.
Police in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania are investigating multiple reports of Halloween candy containing sewing needles.
According to CBS News, a 12-year-old found one of the needles inside a Snickers bar. Similar needles were found inside five different snack-size Twix bars by a father whose children had been trick-or-treating in the same area.
The man told police he inspected the candy after seeing a Facebook post describing yet another tampered Snickers bar.
After checking the bag her child used for trick-or-treating Saturday night, a mother in Brainerd, Minnesota also called police to report finding a needle inside a small candy bar.
