Torches win again, improve to 6-2

The Tabernacle Torches whipped Victory of Columbus, Miss. on Thursday, 9-4, as they improved to 6-2 on the season.

Bradley White threw five innings of four-hit ball, while striking out six to record the win.

At the plate, Will Lankford went 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Jared Higginbotham and Tyler Marshall both went 2-for-3 with an RBI each.

Three Torches are having outstanding seasons at the plate this year, but don’t have enough at bats to be listed in the weekly leaders.

Lankford is .714, having 15 hits in 21 at bats. He has eight runs, eight RBIs, three doubles and four home runs.

Higginbotham is hitting .588 (10-of-17), with six runs, two RBIs and a double.

Frankie Doganiero is hitting .571 (12-of-21), with six runs and four RBIs. He has two doubles and one home run.
