Cold Springs parking lot expansion, mold removal approved

The Cullman County Board of Education approved some minor maintenance projects, including the expansion of a parking lot and some mold removal at Cold Springs.
The board approved the Cold Springs High parking lot expansion for $4,900 with Crook Excavating. A project to address gutters on the old bus barn was also approved at $8,800, with GKL Companies, along with $10,998 for mold removal at the home education and agriculture building. That work was handled by Alabama Restoration & Remediation. The mold removal was routine, and reportedly did not pose any immediate threat to public health.
A $4,732 project to replace the softball scoreboard at Fairview High was also approved, which was covered by an insurance claim.
The board also opened bids for a walking trail at Vinemont High School, though no bids were returned for the project.

— All schools and the central office will be closed on November 11th in celebration of Veteran’s Day.
— All schools and the central office will be closed all week, November 23rd-27th for the Thanksgiving Holiday.
— All Cullman County School students will attend a full day on December 17th & 18th.
