Work along Gardendale’s Fieldstown Road on Wednesday and Thursday could result in some traffic delays.

Public Works Director Jeff Holliyan announced Monday that work crews would be removing trees along the road from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day.

“…Alabama Power Company and the Public Works Department will partner together to remove numerous trees along Fieldstown Road that have been deemed a risk to the traveling public and property,” Holliyan said.

The work zone runs from the intersection with Cluster Springs Road westward to an intersection with Longwood Drive, a distance of 1.3 miles.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area by using an alternate route where possible. Police and Public Works crews will direct traffic through the active work areas as necessary.

“Hopefully the project will conclude on Thursday,” Holliyan said.
