Buford Clyde Cagle

Funeral services for Buford Clyde Cagle, 80, of Vinemont will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, 2007, at Bethlehem West Baptist Church, the Revs. Vernon Willis, Delwin Kilgo, Tim Aris, Michael Parker and Rickey Tyree officiating, with interment in the church cemetery.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Cagle passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 14 at Cullman Regional Medical Center.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Gus and Minnie Godsbe Cagle; three brothers, Cordie Cagle, Daniel Cagle and Otis Cagle; and a sister, Pauline Cupp.

Survivors include his wife, Leeviece Echols Cagle; two daughters, Linda (Rickey) Tyree and Myra (Johnny) McKenney; a sister, Marie Tolbert; four grandsons, David (Belinda) Tyree, Phillip (Teri) Tyree, John (Amanda) McKenney and Brian (Lindsay) McKenney; and eight great-grandchildren, Katie, Colby, Caleb, Cade, Nikki and Brianna Tyree, Maddie and Ethan McKenney.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the church.



Herbert Leo Beasley

Graveside services for Herbert Leo Beasley, 77, of Hartselle will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, 2007, at Berlin Cemetery in Mt. Carmel, the Rev. Ray Lathem officiating.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Beasley died Tuesday, Feb. 13 at Trinity Medical Center in Birmingham. He was born on March 1, 1929, in Winston County to Herbert and Anna Jane Fry MacMillian. He was a millwright with U.S. Steel.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Ronald Joe Beasley; a son-in-law, John Behr; four sisters; and three brothers.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Marie Beasley of Hartselle; three sons, Kenneth Beasley of Arley, Larry (Cindy) Beasley of Tuscaloosa and Darryl E. Beasley of Hartselle; a daughter, Cheryl Brown of South Port; a brother, William P. Beasley of Green Pond; a nephew, Cecil Wilcut of Fultondale; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.



Ellie Russell Waddey Jr.

Funeral services for Ellie Russell Waddey Jr., 80, of Hanceville will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2007, at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Timothy Junkin officiating, with burial in Cullman City Cemetery.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Waddey, loving husband and devoted father, died Tuesday, Feb. 13 at his residence. He was born on Oct. 13, 1926, in Nashville, Tenn., to Ellie Russell Waddey Sr. and Katie Estelle Stevens Waddey. Russell was proud to serve his country in the U.S. Army. He was a Vietnam veteran and retired after 20 years of service with the rank of master sergeant. He then worked with Ryder Truck Rentals as a diesel engine mechanic in Miami, Fla., and retired from Ryder after 20 years. He and his wife, Maurine, then moved to Alabama to be near his brother, James, and sister-in-law, Jean Waddey. Russell and Maurine lived in Dodge City for the past 18 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Russell D. Waddey; two sisters, Mary Margaret and Rosie Lee Agee; and a brother, James Waddey.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Maurine Lewis Waddey of Hanceville; two daughters, Stephanie G. (Urs) Rutishauser of St. George, Utah, and Joyce Dickerson of Nashville, Tenn.; a stepdaughter, Sallie (Yalcin) Ozay of Bridgeport, Conn.; a daughter-in-law, Rebecca Waddey of Nashville, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren, Justin Matthews of Boulder, Colo., Stephen Rutishauser of St. George, Utah, James Temple, Kathy Lackey, Timothy Temple and Sherrie Temple, all of Nashville, Kenan and Eda Ozay of Bridgeport, Conn., Emily Matthews of Rockwall, Texas, and Stanley Temple of Elm, N.C.; and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.



Forrest Leonard Wooten

Forrest Leonard Wooten, a resident of Naples, Fla., since 1991 and formerly of Trimble, passed away on Jan. 19, 2007. He was born on Feb. 20, 1923, and was a graduate of Hays Institute of Technology in Chicago, Ill., with a degree in combustion engineering in applied science in 1951, attended Akron University, Ohio, and graduated from Coyne Electrical School, Chicago, Ill., in 1946. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II, serving from 1942 to 1945 and attaining the rank of Petty Officer second class, storekeeper, and was stationed in New Guinea.

From 1951 to 1957, he was a field superintendent for the American Engineering Company in Philadelphia, Pa., plant engineer from 1957 to 1969 at the Trostel Tannery, Milwaukee, Wisc., director of engineering from 1969 to 1987 at Family Hospital in Milwaukee and an engineering consultant until 1991 when he retired.

Forrest was a licensed pilot who spent 30 years redesigning, refurbishing and flying small planes. His final masterpiece was purchased by the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Annual Fly-in Convention in Oshkosh, Wisc., in the early 1990s. He was a member of the American Bonanza Society. He enjoyed working with his hands and designed and built an addition onto his home which was completed in 2003. He volunteered at Naples Community Hospital and for the Collier County Sheriff’s Office.

In the past eight years his constant companions were Little Miss Muffin, a Maltese and Cricket, a Chihuahua.

Forrest is survived by his wife, Judith Ann Keach Wooten, whom he married Feb. 14, 1985; two stepsons, Capt. Fred J. (Anna Remington) Oehler of Lodi, Wisc., who recently returned from Kuwait, and Steven M. (Kim Roney) Oehler of Waterford, Wisc.; five grandchildren, Andrew, Jed, Briar, Kelly Ann and Alex; his in-laws, Sarah Keach Kohloff and Dennis Kohloff of Bellevue, Wash., and Camano Island, Wash., Martha Keach of Milwaukee, Robert and Susan Tull Keach of Beverly, Mass., and Boynton Beach, Fla., James and Marylou Keach of Guilford, Conn., and David Keach of Milwaukee; nieces and nephews, Henrietta, Viola, Angela, Jeff, Mark, Christopher, Melissa and Katie; father-in-law, James Clay (Vi) Keach of Kenosha, Wisc.; a sister, Flora Wensel of Carbon Hill, Ala.; a half-sister, Virginia Phillips of Cullman; and a brother, Roy (Freda) Wooten.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Reno and Nettiebell Rodgers Wooten; his mother-in-law, Adeline Hahn Keach; and four siblings, Vassie, Raymond, Horace and Troy.

Memorial services are pending in Wisconsin and Alabama.

Donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., or to Collier County Domestic Animal Services.
