Jefferson County Schools Supt. Craig Pouncey has announced three quickly-organized forums where he will address parents of students who currently live outside the Gardendale city limits, but who attend the city’s schools.

Those students are the subject of ongoing negotiations between the county system and the new Gardendale City Schools, as to whether those students will continue to go to their current schools when the breakaway system takes over next school year.

Pouncey had announced his intention after a special JefCoEd board meeting Friday to hold the meetings, but did not have time or venues set then. The schedule and locations were announced via the JefCoEd Twitter feed on Saturday night. They are:

• Mt. Olive Elementary School gymnasium, Monday, 6 p.m.
• Brookville Elementary School, Tuesday, 5:30 p.m.
• Bethel Baptist Church, North Smithfield, Thursday, 6 p.m.

It;s not known exactly what form these forums will take, or whether Pouncey or other JefCoEd officials will entertain questions from the audience.
