Henry Wilson Taylor

Funeral services for Henry Wilson Taylor, 92, of Cullman will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 2, 2007, at Leak-Memory Chapel in Montgomery, Pastor Gary Aldridge officiating the service, with interment in Greenwood Cemetery immediately following the service.

Leak-Memory Chapel in Montgomery is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Taylor died Tuesday, May 29, at Cullman Health Care. He was born on July 1, 1914, in Greenville, S.C. He was a veteran of the Army Air Corps and the U.S. Air Force. He proudly served his country in World War II and during the Korean War. His service included 23 years of active duty with the U.S. Air Force and seven years with the U.S. Air Force Reserve, retiring at the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. He also served in U.S. Government Civil Service, retiring with over 38 years of total service to his country. His U.S. Air Force Reserve duty included assignments with the 908th Airlift Wing at Bates Field and Brookley Air Force Base in Mobile, Ala., and Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery. Henry was a member of the Thorington Road Baptist Church in Montgomery, before moving to Cullman. In Cullman he was a member of Seventh Street Baptist Church. He was a member of the Montgomery, Ala., Chapter, Phi Delta Kappa Fraternity of Business and Professional Men and served as chapter president during his membership. He also loved golf and played for many years until physically unable.

Henry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nancy E. Duncan Taylor of Opelika.

He is survived by his two sons, Robert and his wife, Sherry Taylor of Newnan, Ga., and Ron and his wife, Vicki Taylor of Cullman; four grandchildren, Jamie and her husband, Riley Trimble, of Cullman, Scott and his wife, Rachel Taylor of Statesboro, Ga., Laura Taylor of Cullman, Cindy and her husband, Chris Coppage, of Alpharetta, Ga.; and one great-grandchild, Taylor Trimble of Cullman. He is further survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.



Mavanell Chandler

Funeral services for Mavanell Chandler, 79, of Cullman will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 2, 2007, at Williams-McCracken Funeral Home Chapel, the Revs. Delwin Kilgo and Frank Wood officiating, with interment in Springhill Baptist Cemetery.

Williams-McCracken Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Chandler passed away on Tuesday, May 29, at Helen Keller Hospital in Sheffield, Ala. She was born on Dec. 31, 1927, to Willie G. and Almedia Nancy Sims Brown. She was a member of Springhill Baptist Church. She worked at Cullman Lingerie for over 30 years. She loved gardening, quilting and spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Floyd Chandler; and one sister, Estelle Jackson.

Survivors include two sons, Kerry (Donna) Chandler and Steve (Sherry) Woodard; a stepson, Harold (Louise) Chandler; a daughter, Sherlon Martin; eight grandchildren, Heath Chandler, Heather (Keith) Graves, Hayden Chandler, Steve Woodard Jr., Shannon (Chris) Shoemaker, Laurie (Michael) Turner, Carissa (Rodger) Smitherman, Mitch Martin; two stepgrandchildren, Ty (Yvetta) Chandler and Wetawnya Smith; 12 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.



Ernie J. McClendon

Funeral services for Ernie J. McClendon, 74, of Crane Hill are incomplete and will be announced at a later date by Cullman Heritage Funeral Home. Mr. McClendon died Wednesday, May 30, 2007, at his residence.



C.G. Kugler

C.G. Kugler of Cullman went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 28, 2007, at the age of 91. Funeral services were Thursday, May 31, at Missionary Grove Baptist Church, Jimmy McClendon and Delwin Kilgo officiating, with burial in the church cemetery.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Kugler was born on March 18, 1916, in Cullman County to Gus and Leona Roden Kugler. He was retired.

Mr. Kugler was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Phillips Kugler; six brothers, Carl, W.W. “Wendell”, Floyd, Raymond, Ted and Rufus Kugler; and two sisters, Tressie Yearwood and Mamie Nix.

Survivors include a son, Kenneth (Louisa) Kugler; a daughter, Melba (M.L.) Rooks; a brother, Othell Kugler; three sisters, Perlina “Pean” Patterson, Hilda Goodwin and Earline Mosley; four grandchildren, Ray (Norma) Tuma, Mason (Myra) Kugler, Chris (Lisa) Kugler and Dana (Rob Gann) Rooks; two great-grandchildren, Dale Kugler and April Kugler; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Visitation was Wednesday.



Richard Barrett Bean

Funeral services for Richard Barrett Bean, 81, of Cullman will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 4, 2007, at Cullman Heritage Chapel, the Rev. Tony Thomas officiating, with burial in Simcoe Methodist Cemetery.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Bean died Wednesday, May 30 at Hanceville Nursing Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.



Johnny Odell Parrish

Funeral services for Johnny Odell Parrish, 39, of Addison will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 2, 2007, at First Baptist Church in Addison, with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery in Addison. Mr. Parrish will lie in state one hour prior to services.

Nichols Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Parrish died Thursday, May 31.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
