The Kimberly City Council was operating shorthanded on Monday night, with Mayor Bob Ellerbrock and Councilman Brad Stark both absent. The four remaining members had a light agenda.
The council approved the extension of AT&T’s U-verse contract for television, broadband Internet and telephone service. The extension allows the company to serve for another five years, on the same terms as the previous contract.

An AT&T representative said their company serves about 100 customer in Kimberly. The home of Councilman Brian Pharris is not yet one of them; as he presided over the meeting, he reminded the representative of that fact with the simple question, “When?”
The spokesman said their build-out continues throughout the city.
In other business, the council:
• approved a request by residents of Jackson Trace to install a street light at the subdivision entrance near Morris Majestic Road
• tabled again an agreement with Jefferson County for maintenance of through roads
• voted to purchase new tires for a police car.
