Hayden couple pleads guilty to marijuana trafficking

ONEONTA — A husband and wife from Hayden have each pleaded guilty to trafficking in marijuana.

District Attorney Pamela Casey said that Chris Petty, 53, and his wife Cheryl, 49, entered guilty pleas in Blount County Circuit Court this week.

In February, sheriff’s deputies searched the Petty home had found more than 2¾ pounds of marijuana. They also uncovered a full-scale marijuana growing operation, including grow lights, live plants, dried marijuana buds and several containers filled with cannabis.

The couple will be sentenced at a later date.
