Highway 31 wreck in Hanceville leaves one injured, destroys Apel sign

- Two vehicles collided on U.S. Highway 31 in Hanceville and skidded off the road, destroying Apel Machine & Supply Company's sign. Haley Jacobs was removed from her gray 2003 Dodge with Jaws of Life by Johnson's Crossing Volunteer Fire Department and Cullman EMS. She was taken to UAB for injuries.
At the scene of a wreck on US Highway 31 in Hanceville, Johnson’s Crossing Volunteer Fire Department and the Cullman EMS removed a driver from her vehicle using the Jaws of Life.
A white 2008 Hyundai and a gray 2003 Dodge collided near Apel Machine & Supply Company and skidded off the road resulting in the destruction of the company’s sign.
Alabama State Trooper Ron Wood is in charge of the agency’s investigation of the incident
According to the Wood’s report, Haley Jacobs and Clay Spencer were the drivers.
Jacobs was removed from her gray Dodge using the Jaws of Life and sustained injury. There is no report of injury to Spencer.
Wood said that Jacobs was taken to UAB for treatment.
The cause of the wreck is still under investigation.
