Jordan’s Deandreas Merriweather (5) dashes past Jacob Knighton (12) and Davis Mansell (13) of the Vikings.

Despite a monumental 95-run touchdown by Logan Motte in the second half, Mortimer Jordan could not pull it out for a win Friday against Walker, who took the game 45-21.

The Vikings started the show after a scoreless first quarter when quarterback Carson Roberts ran eight yards for the first score of the game.

Mortimer Jordan’s Devlin Hodges went in as quarterback, filling in full time for the injured Orion Recke, with who he had shared QB duties last week. Hodges threw to Marquis Dobbs for 19 yards and a first down. Hodges then kept the ball for a gain of another eight yards.

Dobbs gained 10 yards to the nine. From there, Hodges threw to Motte for the first Blue Devils score of the night, with 6:16 left in the second quarter.

Following a failed Jordan onside kick, Walker started with the ball on the 50. The Vikings’ Michael Bridges carried the ball for 14 yards. Then Roberts then found Dashaun Kendrick for a 36-yard pass and a touchdown.

With 2:40 left in the third quarter, Motte intercepted the ball on the Walker 5-yard line and ran it back 95 yards for a TD, his second score of the game.

Walker upped its score again when Blake Wilkes, in as quarterback, threw to Joseph Bell for eight yards. Bell then ran 35 for a Viking score.

Jordan ended on a good note when Hodges connected with Conner McMillan for a 42-yard score.

Walker outgained the Devils 293 yards to 103 on the ground. The teams were nearly even in passing yards. Jordan also fumbled the ball away three times.
