Running back Isaac Veitch ran for 12 yards and two touchdowns, as Hayden overpowered Corner 37-14 in the first official game held at the Yellow Jackets’ new stadium.

Veitch scored on a 5-yard run in the second quarter, and a 4-yard rush in the third.
Sophomore quarterback Corey Ward connected with Dustin Harrison on a 77-yard touchdown pass to take the lead for good in the second period. Ward also ran untouched uinto the end zone from two yards out for the Wildcats’ last score.
Corner (0-1) scored first when quarterback Blake Byrd found diminutive wide receiver Jacob Collier on a 5-yard pass play eight minutes into the game. That score was setup two plays beforehand by a 71-yard pass from Byrd to Nick Webb.
But then Hayden scored 37 unanswered points, including two within 18 seconds of each other that were led to be Corner turnovers — one an interception in the end zone that led to Ward’s bomb to Harriosn, the other a muffed catch on the subsequent kickoff.
Ethan Hays and Adam Roberts also ran for a touchdown each for the Cats (1-0).
Jordan Shipp, who alternated with Byrd at quarterback, ran 13 yards for the Jackets’ other score with 7:08 left in the game.
