Jefferson County Schools will be closed on Friday, according to a Jefferson County School System spokeswoman.

The closure includes the cancellation of all activities and athletic events.

Schools in the area have been closed since Tuesday morning or afternoon, when snow began to cover roads and make driving conditions dangerous.
