JeffCo Baseball Tournament: Pinson Valley 7, McAdory 1

Pinson Valley broke the game open with five runs on three doubles in the fifth inning, as they beat McAdory 7-1 Friday to advance to the finals of the Jefferson County Schools Baseball Tournament.

The Yellow Jackets took the early lead with a run off a sacrifice fly in the second inning, but the Indians tied the game when Hunter Davidson scored on a sac fly by Zach Ray in the fourth.

The fifth-inning rally began with a lead-off double by Tyler Farley, who moved to third on a passed ball and scored on a sac fly by Brent Stephens. Cody Dougherty then got on board with a hit, followed by a Destin Davison double; both scored when designated hitter Baker Hodge singled to right field. Ray then brought in Baker on a double.

The Tribe added a run in the sixth when Farley began the inning with a hit, and scored on a double to the fence in right center by Stephens.

Farley and Hodge were 2-for-3 at the plate, and Destin Davidson was 2-for-4.

Justin Hogan got the win in relief of Levi Miller.

The Indians will play the finals at Clay-Chalkville on Saturday at 5 p.m.
