Good morning, and happy Wednesday…
Weather: Today will be a little warmer than yesterday, but not by much. The high will be 54 degrees, with a low tonight of 39 degrees. There is no rain in the forecast, and experts call for a mostly sunny day.
Local:
• GCW (Global Championship Wrestling) will be having a show on April 4 at the new Tarrant High School campus in the gym. Tickets will be $10. Doors open at 7 p.m. and bell time is at 7:30 p.m. All money from tickets, concessions and donations will go to the school.
• Smoke Rise Baptist Church will have a live simulcast with Priscilla Shirer from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. April 5. registration is $20 and includes study guide, breakfast, lunch and refreshments. Register at www.smokerisechurch.org/events or call 647-7064.
• Run for River will be held April 12 at 8 a.m. at Horse Creek track in Dora. River Thomas was diagnosed with Spastic Quadriplegia Cerebral Palsy at 8 months old and will soon be 3 and cannot sit up or hold his head up on his own. He requires a feeding tube, a gait trainer and wheelchair. All proceeds from the 5K will go toward helping this family build an accessible home for River. Sports: Hayden went 5-0 in pool play at the Gulf Coast Class II softball tournament in Gulf Shores, and will be the No. 2 seed in the 60-team field going into bracket play today. The Wildcats get a bye in the first round, and will play at 1 p.m. against the winner of Hazel Green-Jeff Davis in the second round. Bracket play concludes with the championship game at 9 p.m.
