Wallace State Community College’s Business programs have earned a 10-year reaffirmation of its accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).
“This reaffirmation of accreditation by ACBSP is a testament to the exceptional quality, dedication, and innovation of our Business faculty and staff,” Dr. Vicki Karolewics, President of Wallace State Community College said in a press release. “It reflects our unwavering commitment to academic excellence and to preparing students for success in a dynamic global economy. We are proud to continue offering programs that meet the highest standards in business education.”
The accreditation encompasses the Business Administration program, Business Management Program and the Business Education and Office Administration Program.
The Business Administration Program is a transfer option for students planning to seek a four-year degree in business related areas such as accounting, economics, finance, management, marketing, supply chain management and advanced manufacturing management.
The Business Management program offers associate degree and certificate options in Banking and Finance, Business Management, Entrepreneurship, Financial Management, Logistics Management and Office Management.
The Business Education and Office Administration Program offers associate degrees and certificates in Accounting, Administrative Assistant and Medical Administrative Assistant.
The ACBSP is a global organization that accredits business programs at all degree levels, from associate to doctoral. It focuses on teaching and learning outcomes, emphasizing the quality of instruction and student achievement in business education.
“The ACBSP’s emphasis on continuous improvement and stakeholder focus aligns perfectly with our vision at WSCC,” Amanda Tillman, Program Chair said in a press release. “I’m so proud that our Business Department has secured reaffirmation with ACBSP, further advancing the college’s mission under the leadership of Dr. Karolewics.”
The Wallace State Business program was first accredited in 2005. To earn accreditation, the program conducted a self-study and hosted a site visit with ACBSP representatives early this year. The program’s accreditation was reaffirmed with no notes or conditions. Faculty was recognized in June 2024 at the ACBSP Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.
