St. Bernard Preparatory School received a thrilling opportunity to be represented on the national stage this weekend, thanks to the generosity of Dr. and Mrs. Scott Gillis of Eufaula, Alabama. The Gillis family, whose son James is a sophomore at the school, arranged for the St. Bernard Prep name to be displayed on the rear driver’s side of the #7 race car driven by Eric Caudell in the General Tire 200.

The race, part of the ARCA Menards Series, will take place at Talladega Superspeedway and will be broadcast live Saturday, April 26, at 11:30 a.m. on Fox Sports 1 (FS1).

Eric Caudell, a veteran of the ARCA Menards Series from Piedmont, Oklahoma, competes part-time with a self-owned, self-funded team. Now in his 11th season, Caudell brings experience and determination to the track — and this weekend, he’ll also be bringing a piece of St. Bernard with him.

The partnership between the Gillis family and Caudell’s team was born from a shared passion for motorsports and a deep appreciation for the mission of St. Bernard Preparatory School.

“This opportunity gives St. Bernard Prep national exposure during one of the ARCA Series’ most thrilling events,” said Headmaster Phuong Nguyen. “We are truly grateful to the Gillis family for their kindness, generosity, and school spirit.”
