County Commission handles regular business

During its meeting on Tuesday, April 15, the Cullman County Commission:

— Endorsed the national Two Lights for Tomorrow Day initiative.

— Surplused a 2009 Dodge Charger from the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office.

— Surplussed the following items from the revenue office:

  • One IBM 15 inch flat panel monitor.
  • Three Twinax to parallel interfaces.
  • One Priam parallel to Twinax interface.
  • One Olympus D500L digital camera.

— Surplussed the following items from the commission office:

  • One 2018 Jeep Compass.
  • One 2006 Chevrolet Equinox.
  • One Savin C2410 digital copier.

— Surplussed the following items from the parks and recreation department:

  • One 1998 AM General.
  • Two 1999 AM Generals.
  • One 2000 AM General.
  • One 2008 AM General.
  • One 2005 AM General.
  • One seven-foot military cargo trailer.
  • One 1995 Ford 7840 tractor.
  • One Husqvarna model MZ61 lawn mower.

— Changed the speed limit on County Road 1207 to 25 mph.

— Changed the speed limit on County Road 287 to 25 mph.

— Amended its policy and procedures for public comments in order to streamline the process.

— Approved a $43,750 quote from Z1, llc home repair to renovate the investigation office at the CCSO.

— Nominated Shirley Arnett to the Cullman Area Mental Health Authority Board for a six-year term.

— Nominated Brittany Heron to the 250-year Celebration Committee.

— Approved the purchase of an $11,342 single-engine bus from Long-Lewis of Cullman.

— Extended the permit to develop, along with an existing $413,848 bond for Ryan’s View Subdivision located at the end of County Road 201.

— Extended the permit to develop Chaney Branch Farms Subdivision located at the corner of County Road 1191 and County Road 1196 along with a new $172,958 surety bond.

— Approved a variance request from the owners of Flat Rock Cove to be allowed access from County Road 931.
