VINEMONT — The upcoming District 11 special election will fall on the same day as previously scheduled municipal elections throughout the state of Alabama, which has caused the town of South Vinemont to rearrange its election day plans.
The Vinemont municipal election will continue as planned at the Vinemont Community Center Tuesday, August 26. However, because state law prohibits public officials and employees from participating in local elections, the Vinemont Town Council approved opening a second polling location at Vinemont Town Hall.
The council also postponed its next monthly meeting, previously scheduled for Tuesday, May 13, until the following Tuesday, May 20 as not to interfere with the District 11 Republican Primary Election.
In other business, the council received a clean audit for Fiscal Year 2023 from Jeremy Jefferys of the firm Cooper, Hill and Lecroix.
