Hanceville Library staff now at full strength with a full season of programs and events

The Hanceville Library has two new librarians, officials said, including that hires mean a full staff for the first time since November 2024.
Pam Reid joined in February. She is a local resident and retired educator. She had served on the library board for many years previous. REid is also involved in the culture club. She is a mother and grandmother.
Crystal Stone joined the library team in March, and loves to hike and enjoys art. She also is a local Hanceville resident. She is married and has family in the area. Both have contributed a lot to the library in their short term working.
The library has planned, April 2, a Minecraft club which is a private club for age 6 to 12. This is run by the private Facebook page. (www.facebook.com/groups/minecraftnerdsunitehomeschoolclub/).
April 9 will offer aProm Makeover Class for teenagers and females who want to learn about skin care and the best uses for makeup. The glamour session starts at 10 a.m. Faith Hershberger is a current resident of Hanceville and is a full-time beauty consultant while maintaining her part-time profession as a commercial pilot.
April 16 the Easter bunny is coming with an old-fashioned Easter egg hunt for all children, starting at 10 a.m.
April 23 will be games with the game club, and April 30 is the children’s book club. Story time for the younger children is at 10 a.m. in the Shirley Burden children’s room. The Summer program starts May 28 with Mr. Larry’s Magic Show, June 4 with Let it Shine Puppets singing and dancing. Then on June 11 the Alabama Department of Archives; June 18 Snead’s Farmhouse will present a program on their animals; June 25 the Hanceville Fire Department will show off the firetrucks and provide water for the children to play in, and July 2nd the science lady will present a program on Color of Science.
We are open Tuesday thru Friday 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m.-1 p.m.. The address is 201 Commercial Street, Hanceville, located in the heart of downtown Hanceville.
