J&C Local Farm is set to make its debut at the 41st Annual Bloomin’ Festival Arts and Crafts Fair at St. Bernard Preparatory School April 5-6. Nestled in the heart of nature, J&C Local Farm is a working farm dedicated to cultivating culinary lavender and creating high-quality handcrafted products infused with its delicate flavor and aroma.
Founded by Joe and Carla Stiles of Arab, J&C Local Farm began as a dream after Joe’s retirement from the military and Carla’s transition from business ownership. What started as a simple investment in land quickly evolved into a thriving farm filled with fruit trees, lavender fields and an ever-growing commitment to sustainability and education.
“We weren’t quite sure what direction we wanted to take when we first started, but we knew we wanted to work the land and create something special,” Carla said. “Culinary lavender has been an exciting journey and we are thrilled to share our passion and products with visitors at Bloomin’ Festival.”
J&C Local Farms specializes in a variety of lavender-infused products, from gourmet treats like dark and milk chocolate lavender caramels, honey and lavender blends and lavender-infused baking mixes, to bath and body items such as lavender soaps, lotions, essential oil rollers and simmer pots. They also offer lavender cocktail sugars and seasonings, perfect for enhancing culinary creations.
More than just a business, J&C Local Farm is a place of discovery and appreciation for the beauty of nature. The farm continues to expand, hosting photography sessions and events in the fall of 2025, while Joe and Carla remain dedicated to learning and growing as first-generation farmers.
Festival-goers will have the opportunity to experience lavender’s calming and culinary wonders firsthand at J&C Local Farms’ booth. From tasting samples to learning about the difference between culinary and aromatic lavender, visitors can immerse themselves in the farm’s handcrafted goods and sustainable practices.
