Wallace State scholarship auditions Feb. 7, March 7

Wallace State Community College’s Fine and Performing Arts program has announced dates for scholarship auditions for the 2025-2026 academic year, with opportunities for current and incoming students to earn funds for their education.
Auditions will be Friday, Feb. 7 and Friday, March 7 at the Burrow Center for the Fine and Performing Arts from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. each day. Auditions on Feb. 7 will be held for instrumental, vocal and theatre ensembles. March 7 auditions will include those ensembles as well as auditions for the Dance program.
The Wallace State Performing Arts programs consists of vocal and instrumental ensembles, dance and theatre. Students can audition for more than one ensemble across all programs. Recipients are required to be full-time students taking 12 or more credit hours, maintain a GPA of 2.5 and meet other requirements specific to each program.
The Performing Arts programs that offer scholarships include instrumental groups: Concert Band, Jazz Band and Percussion Ensemble; vocal groups: Concert Choir, Wallace State Singers and Vocal Jazz; the Allegro Dance Theatre; and Wallace State Theatre, including performance and technical scholarships.
The ensembles perform independently as well as cooperatively in numerous productions each semester. There are numerous travel opportunities each year, as well. The ensembles have travelled nationally and internationally to perform, including trips to Europe, Washington, D.C., and Orlando, Florida. Participation is open to all Wallace State students, regardless of their major.

Students should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and a scholarship application before a scholarship can be distributed.
