GOOD HOPE — After staging a successful opening late last year, officials for the Love’s Travel Stop brand joined last week with Good Hope and other local leaders to officially cut the ribbon in Cullman County for the company’s newest Alabama location.

Good Hope Mayor Jerry Bartlett and Love’s district manager Shawnda Howe did the ribbon-cutting honors at a well-attended ceremony at the new Travel Stop Thursday, Jan. 9. Open 24 hours throughout the year, the 15,000 square foot location features both Subway and McDonald’s restaurant offerings all under one roof, alongside all of the company’s signature retail amenities catering to both passenger travel as well as commercial transport.

Located at the 305 exit of Interstate 65 along County Road 222, the new location broke ground in early 2023 and rates as one of the company’s largest, featuring eight diesel bays, 82 truck parking spaces, more than 50 passenger vehicle parkings spaces, along with three RV hookups and an RV dump station. The new Travel Stop also offers a CAT scale, a dog walking area, wireless internet service, trucking showers and laundry facilities.

“They were so great to work with us every step of the way, and Love’s is just a huge addition to the growth that we’re experiencing at the [County Road] 222 exit,” Bartlett said. In preparation for the travel stop’s construction and additional growth in the area, the city of Good Hope completed an ambitious expansion of its municipal sewer service, extending sewer lines to the 305 exit area while upgrading the capacity of existing lines elsewhere within the city.

Love’s maintains a website for the new Good Hope Travel Stop featuring current fuel prices, information for commercial carriers and a long list of store-specific services and amenities for vehicle travelers. Visit the website at www.loves.com/locations/877.
