This year’s Cullman County Basketball Tournament is right around the corner — and the stage is now set.

West Point’s varsity boys and Good Hope’s varsity girls were awarded officially the top seeds at Wednesday’s drawing ceremony, which took place at the Cullman County Board of Education, after netting/tying the best overall records in county games with seeding implications.

Seeding was again based on first meetings among the seven county schools this season.

Brackets for the annual classic — set for Saturday, Jan. 18 through Saturday, Jan. 25 at Wallace State’s Tom Drake Coliseum — were also determined by the county’s basketball coaches. Tickets throughout the week will be available for purchase at the gate. Cost of admission is $7 and can be paid for via cash.

West Point’s boys (5-1) won a three-way tiebreaker with Good Hope (5-1) and Fairview (5-1) via coin flip to take the top seed. The Raiders are the No. 2 seed — followed by the Aggies, Holly Pond (2-4), Hanceville (2-4), Vinemont (1-5) and Cold Springs (1-5).
