LOCAL SPORTS: West Point’s Lamar named Athlete of the Week

West Point’s Jay Lamar took charge this past week.
The senior standout filled the stat sheet in wins over Good Hope (34 points), East Lawrence (23 points), Corner (37 points) and Decatur Heritage (22 points) as the Warriors improved to 14-4 and won this year’s West Point Christmas Tournament.
Lamar also averaged 3.7 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.7 steals across those four games.
He is The Times’ Athlete of the Week.
