Ava McSwain is well on her way to crafting a terrific senior campaign — much to the surprise on nobody.
The Good Hope standout continued her excellent work this past week, scoring 29 points against West Morgan and 24 points against Danville to help the Class 4A No. 1 Raiders claim a pair of area victories.
She totaled 12 rebounds, seven deflections and three assists against West Morgan while shooting 63 percent from the field and is averaging 21.9 points, 6.4 rebounds, 2.2 steals and 1.8 assists per game this season through Thursday, Dec. 19.
She is The Times’ Athlete of the Week.
Athlete of the Week, which is sponsored by Mitch Smith Chevrolet, is open to all local athletes.
