The Cullman Elks Lodge once again brought the magic of the holiday season to local children with its annual Children’s Christmas Party. This beloved tradition has been spreading joy to children in the community for more than 20 years. The event was made possible through the hard work of Elks Lodge members, along with generous support from grants and local fundraising efforts.

For two decades, the Elks Lodge has hosted this event for children from both Cullman County and Cullman City Head Start programs, with an about 125-150 children attending each year.

“The true magic of Christmas is reflected in the smiling faces of the children when Santa arrives,” Program Chair Alena Cook said. “It’s a special moment that reminds us of all of the joy this season brings.”

After Santa’s grand arrival by helicopter, the children enjoyed a pizza feast provided by the Elks Lodge “Elves.” Each child also received a carefully selected gift, which were especially thoughtful this year due to the smaller group size, ensuring each child felt truly special.

“Our members work tirelessly to ensure that each child receives a gift that makes them feel valued,” Cook said. “It’s truly heartwarming to see how much the children appreciate these moments.”

Tina, one of the Lodge members, also made a memorable contribution by dressing up as an Elk and interacting with the children. Her enthusiasm and kindness helped create a warm, festive atmosphere that added to the holiday magic.

According to a press release from Victim Services of Cullman, Inc., “as part of the Elks’ guiding motto, ‘Elks Care, Elks Share,’ the Lodge continues to demonstrate its unwavering commitment to community service and philanthropy. The Children’s Christmas Party is just one of many programs that the Cullman Elks Lodge supports year-round. This year’s event, along with others, was made possible by the generosity of local donors and volunteers, and the Lodge’s ongoing fundraising efforts.”

“Our members are proud to serve our community, and we are grateful to have the support of so many wonderful individuals and organizations,” Cook said. “We look forward to continuing to make a positive impact in the years to come. The Lodge remains committed to supporting children, veterans and other members of the community, and will continue its efforts to make this season and others brighter for those in need.”
